Our green mission

More than clean.
A healthier way to live.

We want to earn your trust by delivering premium cleaning and property services with care, consistency and attention to detail. But our mission goes beyond providing a cleaner space.

By reducing unnecessary harsh chemicals, we can help create healthier indoor environments. Outdoors, responsible cleaning choices can also reduce harmful runoff and help protect the Chesapeake Bay and the ecosystems connected to it.

Green Clean Institute Certified Technician badge

Leading from the front

Our owner became a Certified Green Cleaning Technician to show every employee that green cleaning is not just a policy at Apex — it is a way of life.

How we put it into practice

It has to change the work, or it is just a logo.

Certification is where this starts, not where it ends. The reason Apex trains to a green standard is that cleaning is one of the few things done to a building every single week — which makes the method used the largest recurring input into the environment inside it. Here is where that decision actually lands.

Inside the building

Fewer unnecessary harsh chemicals means less of what does not belong in the air your family, staff, customers or pets breathe all day — in an office, a clinic, a school or a living room.

Outside the building

Everything used on a patio, driveway, dumpster pad or building exterior goes into the soil, the storm drain and the landscaping. In Central Maryland, that water is headed for the Chesapeake — so the standard applies outdoors too.

On your property over time

Correct products at correct dilution, applied by someone trained in both, are gentler on finishes, sealed floors, fixtures and fabrics across a multi-year relationship than a routine that strips as it cleans.

Every property, every visit — not a premium tier

Green is not an upsell at Apex and it is not a package you can decline your way out of. It is how we work across commercial janitorial programs, government and institutional facilities, medical and professional offices, schools, retail centers, apartment communities, private homes and short-term rental turnovers throughout Anne Arundel, Howard, Baltimore and Carroll counties and Baltimore City.

The credential behind it

An independent body, not a self-awarded badge.

Anyone can print the word “green” on a vehicle or add a leaf to a logo. The Green Clean Institute is an independent certification body that certifies individual cleaning technicians and whole firms through a published training program. It describes itself as the original green cleaning certification, with thirty years of industry leadership behind it and a federal trademark it describes as earned, not bought.

A premium clean is not a stronger smell. It is a property that is properly, thoroughly clean, done by people who were trained to a standard.

What the training covers

  • Green Clean Technician certification, delivered 100% online, with certificates issued to workers and to firms
  • Available in English and Spanish, with 24/7 access for new and existing workers
  • Infection prevention modules built into the green cleaning program
  • OSHA compliance modules, which appear on firm certifications
  • Independent third-party review of certified products under “Truth in Advertising” standards

The standard is published in full at greencleaninstitute.com.

Ask yourself — or ask your cleaning company

Are they certified, and do they put green practices into action?

Our guess is no. Choose a cleaner standard.
